Recently, going past the lovely old Titanic Bandstand on the way to dinner at Saffron’s (corner of Sturt and Camp Street) I commented on how sad it is that bands today find it too small to use.
Between courses, I looked out and there, like a vision, was a small brass band playing, watched by a handful of people and one large dog.
I raced over the road with my camera to discover this was the Titanic Memorial Band, comprised of members from several different bands. They come, unannounced to Ballarat to play once a year to celebrate the Titanic Band and all band members who have died.
