Buninyong Brewery

Save Civic Hall Garden Party

22Feb 2014

6:00PM – 9:00PM, SATURDAY 22 FEBRUARY 2014

Yes, it’s another party at the Brewery, and for an excellent cause – to help save the Civic Hall from demolition proposed by the City of Ballarat.

You are invited to come along and enjoy the garden and 1850s bluestone brewery, hear Ballarat Ukulele Kollective (full of fun) and Measure 4 Measure (more mellow early and folk music), as well as the wonderful poetry of Nathan Curnow and David Farnsworth. And Chai Lim will launch his new blog, Vex the Story.

For $20 you will also have a choice of cold platters, tea and coffee. Soft drink will be available for purchase and you can also BYO. You can also BYO musical instruments for some impromptu music.

Why are we fund-raising? If Council pursues its current desire to demolish Ballarat’s only large flat-floored venue (it seats 1500!) Save Civic Hall plans to take the battle to VCAT. Although the group has the benefit of some pro bono legal advice, this will still be quite costly.

If Council changes its mind and allows the community to use its Civic Hall again, funds raised will go towards an event at the Civic Hall.

Have your say on Save Ballarat Civic Hall on Facebook or on Save Civic Hall website or Pinterest.
