Another great concert – second in Adam Simmon’s Portrait series was held at the Art Gallery of Ballarat on Wednesday 22 June.
This was a rather gentle evening with featured artist Wang Zheng Ting playing the Chinese forerunner of the mouthorgan – a much bigger and more complex instrument. He played traditional Chinese music and some of his own and Adam Simmons compositions on the Sheng and also Chinese flutes.
Adam Simmons joined Ting in some memorable pieces. This is a fantastic series – Ballarat should be proud of Adam and his considerable achievements on so many musical frontiers.
